Assistant Professor, US & The World
The Department of History at Utah State University invites applications for an entry-level, tenure-track assistant professorship in the history of the 19th century United States. Preference will be given to candidates who envision US history in a broader global context and who have experience teaching the period of the US Civil War and Reconstruction. Candidates should have an ability to teach large U.S. history surveys and to contribute to the department’s undergraduate and graduate curricula. A PhD in hand at the time of application is required. As a research university with a teaching mission, the department seeks colleagues with both university-level teaching experience and evidence of scholarly productivity. A typical teaching load for research faculty in the department is two courses per semester. Review of applications begins November 1, 2016, and continues until the position is filled.
