Hoover Institution- Silas Palmer Research Fellowship and Scholar Research Support

The Hoover Institution Library & Archives are pleased to accept applications for the Silas Palmer Research Fellowship and Scholar Research Support for the 2018 academic year. Applicants will be eligible for support of up to $2,500 to support research based on our collections. All recipients will be expected to spend a minimum of ten days in the Library & Archives during the 2018 academic year (Sept 1, 2017-July 31, 2018), excluding holidays. Award Descriptions

  • Silas Palmer Research Fellowship

Available to US undergraduate and graduate students, this fellowship provides an award of up to $2,500 to support research based on our collections.

  • Scholar Research Support

Available to US faculty; non-US faculty with a PhD, social security number (SSN), or international tax identification number (ITIN)*; postdocs, independent scholars, and international students studying at US institutions*, this support provides an award of up to $2,500 to support research based on our collections.

Application Requirements
All applicants are required to submit their applications online with the following:

  • Contact information
  • Resume or CV
  • A proposal of fewer than 750 words describing your research project, including the names of Hoover collections you plan to consult and why they are necessary for your project
  • The names and email addresses of two individuals who will complete confidential recommendation forms

Application deadline: April 14, 2017 at midnight ET.
*Applicant must be able to provide SSN or ITIN, and/or University permission, and/or VISA documentation required for payment on request.
